Are hands free sneakers really possible? The winged victory company has been on the forefront of sneaker innovation from the 80's right into the 21st century.
Although companies like Puma are much older, Nike's ingenuity keeps it ahead in the game at this point. Releases like the Space Hippie line which incorporates recycled material and the Adapt line which pairs tech with sneakers shows just a portion of the advances that the company is pushing. Now they're giving customers the option of hands free sneakers.
Let's take a look at the innovative Flyease. Step 1 in getting on these sneakers is slipping the "open" part onto your feet. Step 2 is slipping "open" part into the "ready" part and voila, you've just put on hands free sneakers. Both the slipper-like "open" and encasing "ready" are hands free. Obviously some may question the durability of such a system.
The "open" part snaps into the "ready" part, and there's also a tensioning mechanic in place of the midsoles that adds security and stability to the shoes. Further tests have proved the soles stand up against the wear of everyday use and running. The Nike Go Flyease Hands Free will be available for purchase at Nike.com on February 15th if you're a member, and later on this year for everyone.
