What's a city without a mode of transportation as iconic as the taxi cab? True not all cities share the same design and iconic black and yellow colors as the New York City taxi cab. Nike has a special way of celebrating the taxi cab, by designing an Air Max in it's honor. They didn't go out of their way this time around, so there's no doors or wipers or windows (and we're pretty sure they could do that if they wanted to).
Nike's creativity has been nothing short of wow and woah in recent years. The Air Max City Special takes a minimal approach in honoring taxi cabs with it's color use, nothing more.
Let's take a look at the Air Max City Special. There's a lot of yellow in this inspired take, even at the midsoles. This is like a taxi cab for your feet. The yellow uppers feature a layer upon layer effect with mesh material at the top surrounding the lacing area. The black eye stays feature yellow stripes, hooking yellow laces.
There is a small swoosh at the heel near a black tag that says with yellow lettering "NYC." The black insoles say with yellow detailing "City Special," "NYC," "Nike Air." The Nike Air City special is scheduled for released soon at Nike.com and their select partners.
