Griffey is still making headlines, but its not baseball news. The famed baseball player has not been forgotten as one of the all time greats. Nike hasn't been stingy with bringing back old legends.
Revivals have been a huge part of the company's release strategy, and sneaker fans appreciate the fan service. The nineties are a treasure trove of revival material for Nike to use at their whim.
The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 "Freshwater" is the latest sneaker revive releasing to us soon. This pair of Griffeys sticks more to the 1990s original, especially if you compare it to the retro version released some four years ago.
Let's take a look at the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 "Freshwater." Its colorway is inspired by the Seattle Mariners kit, Griffey's old team, consisting mostly of white and black with touches of green for the heel tab and tongue. The silhouette features Air Max technology and a strap for added foot security. An embossed "Nike" goes across the strap. Griffey's number "24" serves as part of the strap's design.
The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 "Freshwater" will be available later this year.
