Graphics are now part of Nike's Air Force 1 silhouette and the gamer in us likes this a lot. The retro 8-bit look is nothing new to us, as we've been seeing the trend grow in recent years. 8-bit graphics invented in 1983 refuses to die, and with the influx of indie game developers preferring this art style it's become more of the norm than something extremely old. To think of it, all next gen games come from the lineage of the simple bit. It's a timeless art form and perfect for retro themed sneakers.
Pixels look super satisfying on the air force 1. In honor of the 8-bit era, the art style will take up residence on the Nike swoosh. Let's take a closer look at the soon to be released Nike Air Force 1 8 bit.
Nike's shadow variant of the Air Force 1 benefits from the pixelized swoosh. That's the first thing you will notice about these sneakers, the big 8-bit swoosh. As seen in the official images, the retro look is established using a layering technique, imitating pixels with the outside of the swoosh having jagged edges, accented by embroidery.
The alternate side of the sneakers has a traditionally one colored swoosh with a smooth outline. This color is the same as the one in the collar. This Air Force 1 shadow variant is predominantly black so the brighter colors pop. Its tongues have doubled logos in a style reminiscent of the 8-bit era.
The Air Force 1 8-bit will be available soon.
