Thanks to ESPN's The Last Dance, the Air Jordan Centre is getting a new lease on life. The "air time" that it got in the basketball documentary featuring footage of the Michael Jordan Bull's era has made the sneakers somewhat relevant. The 90s sneaker had basically died because of the fame of it's more prestigious Air Jordan brethren. Until The Last Dance reminded viewers that it had existed.
It was like its own promotional video: The Last Dance starring Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, co-starring Air Jordan Centre court. The spotlight in the documentary wasn't taken lightly as Nike has moved to capitalize on the interest garnered in the document.
Spicing things up, the silhouette will feature banned mark ups much like the 2019 Defiant Air Jordan 1. There will be three releases in this style, one with red banned marking, blue banned marking, and yellow banned marking. Let's look at these three sneakers.
Just like the "Defiant" of 2019, the tennis shoes in this collection has a bright stripe of color extending from the lateral and going around the heel. It looks like someone stuck colored tape on the sneakers. On the banned area or colored part, there's a pattern of somewhat half circles.
The uppers are white showing wrinkly texture, while sitting on a cream sole.
Nike's Red, Blue, and Yellow Banned collection will be dropping early next year.
